Addis Ababa, March 22, 2024 (FBC) – The Industrial Parks Development Corporation of Ethiopia (IPDC) has confirmed the successful resumption of full-scale production at the Mekele Industrial Park. After a two-year halt due to the conflict, the companies operating within the park have now resumed their production activities.
Mr. Aklilu Tadese, CEO of IPDC, announced the park’s resumption of its operations, highlighting the corporation’s diligent efforts to restart operations.
In addition to the existing companies, new investors have expressed interest in joining the Mekele Industrial Park. These investors are currently completing their pre-investment activities as per their request.
Mr. Aklilu emphasized the importance of creating a favorable investment environment for the park and called upon other stakeholders to support these efforts.
The resumption of production at the Mekele Industrial Park marks a significant milestone in Ethiopia’s industrial parks development. With the return of existing companies and the interest of new investors, the park is poised to contribute to the country’s economic growth and job creation.
