Addis Ababa, August 16, 2023 (FBC) – Gada Special Economic Zone Development Corporation has signed MoU with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) for construction of logistics and export processing center in the coming five years.
The facilities to be built at 1,000 ha of land are said part of the activities underway to expand of industrial parks and free trade zones.
President of the Oromia Regional State, Shemelis Abdisa, in a social media post, stated that activities are underway to make the Gada Special Economic Zone part of the Road and Belt Initiative by attracting more Chinese investors to the center.
The Special Economic Zone has prepared 2,900 ha of land for interested investors, it is indicated during the signing ceremony.
Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhiyuan, President of the Oromia Regional State, Shemelis Abdisa in tandem with other high level officials attended the signing ceremony held on Tuesday.
