Addis Ababa, March 8, 2021 (FBC) –The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has announced plans to generate over $17 billion from mining sector over the coming 10 years.
The Ministry made the remark during a seven-month performance review meeting held recently.
State Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Simegn Wube, said the sector generated more income in the reported period compared to last fiscal year as a result of the institutional reforms carried out in the past.
The government has attached a great attention to the mining industry, she said in the meeting which deliberated on five key focus areas of the Ministry for the next 5 months.
