Addis Ababa, August 21, 2023 (FBC) – Addis Ababa City Administration has signed a deal with China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (FHEC) to build a state of the art Special Economic Zone (SEZ) around Gotera neighborhood in the capital.
The Addis Ababa City Administration has allotted a land for the construction of the Special Economic Zone at the current lease rate.
Educational and cultural zones, financial and business zones and a modern residential quarters will also be included in the SEZ, it is indicated during the signing ceremony.
The project is expected to increase the number of foreigners coming to the city and embolden Addis Ababa’s role in the international economic activity.
